Welcome to The Mejia Lab.
MICROBIAL ECOLOGY, MYCOLOGY AND PLANT PATHOLOGY
The Mejia Lab. is located at the Center for Biodiversity and Drug Discovery of the Institute for Scientific Research and High Technology Services (INDICASAT-AIP).
Building 208, City of Knowledge, Clayton, Panama City, Republic of Panama.
About The Lab.
MORPHOLOGICAL AND MOLECULAR IDENTIFICATION OF FUNGI
Due to the high diversity of fungi, their correct identification is necessary in order to understand their intricate interactions with other organisms. Our team has developed the skills and have the necessary experience to meet the challenges of the proper identification of microorganisms.
IN VIVO INTERACTIONS
In an effort to better understand the role that microorganisms play in plant physiology, interaction tests in in vivo models are an appropriate vehicle to unveil function of new microbes symbiotic with plants
FUNCTIONAL ANALYSIS OF GENES
To properly understand how the interactions between microorganisms and their hosts occur, it is important to discover the activity of the genes involved in both recognition and interaction in the system
